No, I haven't used DV Express Pro before, but I am planning on getting a copy when I buy a new Sager (now probably the 8790). I haven't heard anything negative about the 8890 0-raided, in fact, I believe www.1beyond.com
is selling the 8890 as their full blown 3216-X for $6,440 (yikes!) with Avid DV Express 3.5 already installed. However, 1beyond's literature states "3rd raid to 180 GB" which is confusing inasmuch as I think you can only 0-raid two drives unless you use a different raid controller (which I think would be Raid 5).
Anyway, since Sager is not on Avid's approved list of laptops, I was hoping someone had already beta tested this set up and could verify that it works.
