Dear:

Our distributor assures us that this item can be special ordered though it would require a 10 day lead time (this is their safe estimate, it could be faster). MSI has not yet been able to confirm the availability asserted by our distributor. We are attempting to contact MSI as I write this. I will contact you with any updates as we get them.

Rawpower Customer Support

I guess i'll be ordering from RawPower

The MS-1029 has changed specs and dessign for the better! It now supports only 25Watt CPUs (Turion 64 MT or Mobile AMD Sempron), S-Video has been added aswell, and it is ready and supported for Windows XP 64-bit. New 64-bit drivers, manual, specs posted at MSI website. http://www.msicomputer.com/NB/produc...?model=MS-1029

Now, when will we be able to get them!? That's all that remains to be seen...

Wow that is good news to see its x64 supported. I was hoping msi would offer support for this operating system since I have heard good things about it. -Rob

So has any reseller gotten a date yet on when they can get them?

I hope since the orig date was end july that they should be getting them anytime now that it is august 2nd...

Man, doesn't MSI want us to buy them!?
The email I received confirms that they are now available though you might still expect longer lead times as they will need to be special ordered (perhaps about 2 weeks for delivery).

Well first it has to be shipped from MSI to distributors, who can then shipp to resellers who can then test, take orders, build, test and shipp to customers.

A few units arrive at MSI's distributor on 8/4 (some are already allocated). More arrive on 8/14. These are estimated dates but at this point, I'd say it's officially available.

In total, there is not much inventory, perhaps not even enough to satisfy the interested parties here.

price... Going back w/ the Acer TM 4400

I just whish there would be a dealer that offered a pixel check or warranty for this notebook. BTW, MSI told me a 2 year warranty extention is available for a total 3 years warranty. Another thing I'm trying to figure out is if I should go with Windows XP Pro or Windows XP 64-bit, same price...

I take that back it's a pretty good price if you can play around..
here's my Idea
Get MSI w/ no OS/Hard drive/RAM then start from there at newegg =)
Turion: $204
Ram: 2GB DDR400 114.05x2= 228.1$
GFX: X700 128 MB!!
Hard Drive:60GB 5400RPM Low power,quiet $78+1.25= $79.25
Wireless: (I'm gonna need) $28
OS: Do NOT GET. Find a friend or a family member it's dam overpriced..
Warranty: stick w/ the free
Bag: No thanks I'm good =)
Total: 1409.35$ same price w/ that Acer TM 4400 I wanted!! but w/ an extra 64MB!!!
::::
Buying it from the Xmeld computer w/ the nice options.. is about 1628.00$

If your rich it might not see a big difference between 1409.35 = 1628.00 but if your poor you, you can do something w/ that 218.65$!!

Get Windows XP PRO, then get the free upgrade to XP64. You just pay for the shipping of the disk which is about $12. Opps the program ended but it was here > http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/6...e/default.mspx

Does that cheaper price you are configuring assume you just buy a barebone from xmeld? Also ramificatio do you know how you would get the 2 year extension and how much it would cost?
