Need suggestions on which online retailer to choose for Asus z71v

Hello all, I'm new here, though I have been lurking here for the past couple of months in order to choose which laptop would be right for me. And through the help of these forums, I decided on the Asus z71v. My problem now is that I originally was going to go with www.discountlaptops.com in order to get my laptop, though I noticed now that ISTNC now has the updated prices for the Intel Pentium M. The specs that I am planning on using are as follows:
Intel Pentium M Dothan 2.13 ghz 770
1 1gb stick of DDR2 Ram
The 80gb SATA Fujitsu hard drive.
Arctic Silver thermal paste applied.
Intel 2915ABG wireless network card.
At least a 2 year warranty.

So I am asking what everyones experiences may have been with these 2 online retailers, and suggestions on who inevitably I should order from. Since really, I am not too sure. It would appear, at least, from a quick glance, that ISTNC would be cheaper. Though I also want to take into account support, timelyness of service, reliability, and many other factors. And one of the best ways of doing that is to get people's experiences of it.

Thanks,

I ordered mine from c9tech. Reliable and professional, plus they have standard 2-day fedex. They had the best price for my build. You should check them out. Pretty website .

There is a list of asus reseller in the asus section of this forum. Moving this thread over there.

Discount Laptops has been in the customer service market for longer, as you can tell by the many more reseller rating submissions they have, but they both are good companies with solid service. Something that may swing you more in favor of DL is that they're the only reseller who offers accidental damage protection on the Z71v. A plus in favor of IST is their closer relation to Asus (IST is on Asus' official "where to buy" list, while DL isn't)

http://adamant.com/ has satisfied me. Thomas is good tech support & Linux user. No long telephone waits so far. Price, quick ship, tracking #, everything I needed to choose & get delivery before I had to travel.

Happy with Z80K running XP Pro & Fedora 4.

I am from Toronto Canada and i want a good laptop for school/gaming,
I just cant bring myself to buyin a 500 dollar thing.

I am hoping that by september I can buy the Z71V for $1300 cash Canadian

-1.6ghz Pentium M, 512mb ram, 40 gig hd, the minimum

Somehow I doubt this is possible but in either case, what do u guys think, I mean do u think it'll drop a little so it's under 1500 canadian?

Asus Notebook Z71V Centrino - 1.7G( 533 ) $1455
You can e-mail them and ask about getting a 1.6 instead, they should give you a price. Also, you should ask them if the RAM is 533MHz then you could do the dipswitch trick if you get a 400FSB Processor (just a little tip to get better performance). It's better explained here: http://www.notebookforums.com/showth...dipswitch+Z71v
BetterDeal@CanadaSys.com is their e-mail.

I emailed them asking

1. Can you put in a 1.6 Pentium M instead of 1.7
2. Is the ram 533Mhz
3. (My personal inquiry) Go from a 60 gb to 40 gb hard drive.

Ill post when i get a reply

Well, just a little update, I finally just ordered my laptop, and decided to go with www.discountlaptops.com, just because I had them in mind from the beginning, and also they have been around longer, and I have also heard great things about them. Thank you all for you help! May try posting a review of it once it arrives.
