How long does batter last just sitting there doing nothing?
How long while playing a movie?
How long while gaming?
How does the dvd-burner work?
How long does it take to burn a DVD?
What is your max fps in counter-strike or other fps similiar?
(ati and nvidia)
Do you experience crackly/popping noises while using wireless internet? (802.11abg)

If somebody could post some of the answer to these that'd be great just a few questions i think everybody wants to know

I can answer a few of your questions. I just got my laptop on Nov 8. From the limited time I've played with it, this is what I've noticed:

I played Battlefield 1942 for 1/2 hour and watched a DVD for about 1hr. 10min before the battery ran out. So, that's a total of 1hr. 40min playing a little Battlefield and watching a DVD. I don't know, is that any good considering games and DVD's are notorius power zappers? I have not tried running office applications only. Thats next on my agenda.

DVD burner works fine. Remeber, it writes DVD's in 1X speed only and reads DVD's 2X. That means an hour's worth of digital recording will take an hour to burn to the DVD. It will read the info twice as fast or take only1/2 hour.

The first day I got the system, I noticed a crackling sound eminating from the speakers while playing cd's and dvd's when the wireless was on. When turned off, the crackling stopped. Interestingly, today I had the wireless turned on and no crackling came from the speakers while playing cds or dvds. Go figure.

As I spend more time with my laptop, I'll give a much more comprehensive review sometime in the next week, and continue to post anything interesting about the laptop. So far so good. If the crackling has disappeared for good, then I can say the system is almost perfect.

Can answer a few as well -

How long does batter last just sitting there doing nothing?

1 Hour 54 Minutes - Tested this last night - (All power savings turned off)

How long while playing a movie?

Will try shortly

How long while gaming?

Ha - until I get my "Washed out issue fixed"
How does the dvd-burner work?

I can tell you that it does not work with the most popular DVD backup software (DVDXCopy Platinum) - which is a bummer - even my Dell 8500's DVDRW drive works.

How long does it take to burn a DVD?

Forever -- well not quite that long but after burning on a 4X - going back to 2 is ... well lets just say I won't be using this laptop for burning DVD's.

Hope to actually start playing some games on this thing shortly - will post FPS then.

It doesn't work with DVD X Platinum!!! What??? Why? Did you try contacting them to see if there is patch or something? I was hoping to use this program...any other suggestions for backup programs that would work?

DVDXPlat

I tried a few different DVD's - and it was not able to ready any of them.

It works fine on my desktop - and that's where I will have to do my backups.

This might sound silly but is it the legit, registered version? And if yes have you tried the latest update v3.2.1 from the site? If so this really is a bummer. I don't have a dvd burner as of yet, just my ordered AW. I was going to use my new slow 2x to make backups of movies that I own

Email 321 with some info on your drive:

The problem you are having
Model #
Firmware (a copy of the bin file)
Computer model
Disks used

That will help them get AW users up to speed.
