ok this is how it is.. I have this laptop brand STAMP (some no name brand my got some good specs) Its a 9700 256mb, 1.7ghz Pentium M, and 512mb ram. I have this realli weird problem. Lets say i shut down.. 20mins later i try to power on it will not boot -_- no lights, or anything. THEN i would take the Battery out leave the comp and then 2 mins later put the AC ADAPTER onto the laptop and boot. It works. I then put in my battery. It will work. This has happend 2-3 times and each time it works. 1 time when i was doing work, the computer just shut down automatically and could not boot. i used my battery out tactic thing and it worked! Today, my comp did it again, when i was working, it shut powered off. I then tried to use my tactic again, but it did not work.... What can i do? Has my Internal Power died? Now i cant boot.

PS- Also I tried to power on the laptop by holding on my power button for 30secs and for some reason, some of my lights on the laptop powered up but it did not do anything.....

It is most likely your main board or ac adapter, try turning it on without the battery in the laptop and only ac adapter plugged in, if it doesnt work then that means you will need to contact the manufacturer for a new ac adapter or worst... send the laptop back for warranty.

You can always take out your hd and keep it with you, or at least take it out, stick it in an external enclosure and copy over the files you want/need. Then pop it back in and send it off.

Should be fine: I did the same with my old Dell a couple of years ago. (as long as you're sure the problem isn't with the HD.. but it doesn't sound like it from your description)

yeh my laptop just went into repair and the company very nicely let me take MY HD home with me, and they said they will call me if they need it, but my machine had a OVerheating prob so its unlikely they will need it.

Or ask if they can upgrade the HD and u get to kepp the other one my mate did that to his
