Pros
Overall an excellent mid level Laptop, it is more than capable in all areas DVD playback is excellent, the graphics card although only 64mb is adequate for most games. Very nice crystalbrite screen, but this may be to reflective for some users, which is down to personal taste. Battery Life is excellent; keys and scroll pad are very good. I would have to give this laptop 9 out of 10

Cons
Not many, Feels slightly heavy to me, maybe that is where people should consider the travelmate as an alternative, you do not receive a XP Home disk rather an image on recovery discs.

Will update and post some pics shortly, any further info just shout

A little bit of overclocking up to 1.9 GHz Super PI 1m test Improved from 44’s to 38’s.

Hi, the program used is SetFSB homepage http://www13.plala.or.jp/setfsb/

I have only tried this program once as a quick test, until I have fully read up on changing the FSB on the fly I will Not be overclocking any further with this lappy / program.

I noticed that you can hold the PCI at 33 but the PCI-e continues to rise, need to read up more on this, the file is 4th from the bottom it is a Beta version and for Intel915PM - ICH6M (ICS954???BF) Acer Aspire 1691/1694WLMi

Hope the above is of some help. Dutch

Hi, I wouldn’t say excessive heat is generated below the left palm rest, it can get warm though after being on a few hours, the underneath gets pretty hot around the cpu area regardless of cpu speed, If I get time later in the week I will try and post some surface temperature measurements.

Hi the Laptop was purchased from Comet UK here:

http://www.comet.co.uk/comet/html/cache/320_253499.html

The reason I got 10% off was they originally advertised it with a 128mb X700 when in fact it had only got a 64mb X700 they have since updated the website to the correct spec.

Hope the above helps
