Omega wont work on 4005?

Alright, Downloaded the latest Omega drivers today.
Uninstalled all official ATI drivers and did a Driver Cleaner.

Installed Omega, after reboot the screen came up flickering at 600x400 resolution and I got a message "ATI device not found"

Can anyone explain to me step by step on how to get the Omega drivers to work? I feel outdated with these drivers..
And yes, Im not the sharpes knife when It comes to drivers...

Thanks,
Tommy

EDIT: Tried DHzer0point driver which at 1st try reported somewhere along the lines of "device not found"
But 2nd try and installing worked.

My 3dmark05 scores went from
2337 STOCK
2450 ZH

Also, I am wondering about "Clock Rate"
Mine says

CORE - MEMORY
351 - 324

What would be safe to set these too? I have never over clocked anything before, complete "noob" when It comes to these sorts of things

Agree. A step by step omega installation "guide" would be highly appreciated. I've had so much trouble installing those drivers and I think I still don't have everything set up right...

Sorry to say, but glad its not just me

Hehe.. anyways.. tried that overclock stuff
Set it to 395\370 and got a score of 2641 in mark05.
Im not sure if I want to do that again unless someone
says its safe. I thought I heard some weird noises from the inside of the notebook.

I had trouble until I installed the Mobility Modder listed on the Driverheaven website.

I would have to reinstall it all and write it down to do a step by step install detail for you, but try this: Get the driver you want to use (Catalyst or otherwise). If you don't know where to get one, go to omegadrivers.net and download the one for ATI/winXP/x700 and get it ready for install (load it, just don't do the final step). At this point you should have a folder somewhere called "ATI". You will now need to install the Mobility Modder and during install, point it to the ATI folder. After this is done, finish installing the ATI driver, and it should work fine. At least, it did for me. (no overclocking of the video card, and I get 2,537 3dmarks in 3dmark05)

If you're still having trouble getting it to work, I could uninstall mine and reinstall it and write each step down. But the above post should give you the info you need.

Did what you said, same problem.
When installing Omega ATI drivers I got an "INF error, video card driver not found, try and use a standard VGA driver before installing."

EDIT: Did MobModder on the newest Catalyst drivers and it worked like a charm. Dunno why It wont work on Omega.
Anyways, Catalyst seems to be better than ZH.
I got a 3dmark05 score of 2577.
I did a slight OC (385/365) and got 2765.

Nice job, glad it worked for you! Good scores. These machines are perfectly proportioned for a thin/light notebook, imho. Get good scores in 3dmarks, and still work as an all around great notebook.

Hooray for the 8100/4005!

Well, as for updating your drivers, the card will definitely perform better with newer drivers. I was getting somewhere around 50 fps in ut2k4 with stock drivers. After I upgraded, it's more like 80 fps average.

So definitely upgrade, since you are easily able to get 2500 in 3dmark05 if you do. When it comes to why, I would say that as the technology becomes more common, and newer cards are tweaked, they find ways to make them run better, and you get newer drivers as a result. Someone who is more knowledgeable, please feel free to correct me or add to this.

As for a step-by-step, I will do this, but first try uninstalling all ATI drivers in Add / Remove Programs. Then download the correct drivers and the Mobility Modder listed above (from Driverheaven). Then install the drivers and then the mobility modder, and see if that works for you.
