7422GX ... since Feb this year so 6 months. Its in the shop right now, 2nd time, but this is the 2nd unit. I replaced the first day after I got it, bad HD and LCD. This one runs fine but screen flicker and I am trying to get BB to repalce it with a 7510 which r on sale! $1250!

6 1/2 months... cracked hinges and that's it... I'm backed by BB's 3 year service plan though...

i got my m505x early summer 2004. i reformatted once ever(a big deal for me), and am just now starting the upgrade thing(looking for slot load dvdrw/1GB ram chip)

I've had my 505X since last August, so a year now, but now it's for sale...it's been a great, stable machine for me.

Had mine since Feb 19th 2005. Had the hinges fixed 2 weeks later. Now I notice the screen is flickering. Now I have to send it in again.

4th Gateway in 13 years

I have been using computers since 1975 (Stanford mainframe WAN access), PCs since the early 80's.

1st Gateway, 1992 - 486 33MHz, upgraded to 100MHz, 16 mb ram, larger HD, CD player when they came out, etc. Retired it in 1999, worked perfectly the entire 7 years. Those were the days when they used top quality Micronics motherboards with 48 hour burn ins. Replaced by:

2nd Gateway, 1999 - 500MHz, 256MB ram, still runs like new after a fresh install of OS and add'l mem. Still used daily for surfing and internet gaming by kids.

3rd Gateway, 2002 - 2.4GHz, 1GB RAM, workhorse used daily.

4th Gateway, 2005 - M680XL, loaded. 1st mother board died after 3 days. Replaced and working flawlessly for now!
