To anybody who IS gonna order a 5680 soon...

This may seem like an odd question, but hear me out..

When i ordered my 5680, i opted out of the internal BT, not realising i would have a use for it.

As of now, i cant really send my laptop back to sager to get it installed (since it is "internal") since my warrenty is gone, and PCT cant order it.

So, what i am asking... If anybody is gonna order a 5680, and doesnt need to bluetooth.. could you add it to the order for me, and i will buy it from you?

what is a bluetooth exactly? computerwise, not some kinda candy joke plz

suffocate i aint no expert but its basically aa communications device, it enables ur computer to communicate with other devices without connecting any wires, some uses are with hooking ur cellphone, mouse, keyboard and other stuff to ur computer

you can go to your local computer store and buy a lynksys router. take it apart and get the mini pci card thingy from inside and install it in your laptop.

Theres a walkthrough someone posted along with pictures on a thread somewhere, it was really helpful and it worked with my 5680.

That's completly different from bluetooth. Bluetooth is a method for devices withing close proximity or eachother to communicate, kind of like infared but with radio waves. Those linksys routers you are referring to are for 802.11a/b/g. Those are the wireless standards for a wireless ethernet network

Are you dead set on an internal solution? Because if you're not then you could just get one of these .

There is no way to simply puchase the piece from either Sager or another seller such as Dell or Gateway? You might want to check into that if you haven't already done so.

Or, there is always eBay...I have been looking lately and the Dell Bluetooth modules are always there. Check it out here.

I don't know if all bluetooth modules fit the same without regard to notebook, but I assume they do. Good luck!

Im dead-set on a solution that i can always have in my laptop. If there was a PC-card that didnt stick out, i would consider it. However, internal still seems the best road.

Big- I dont know how to order "spare parts" from sager. If i did, i would need the part #, but i would to it, no problems.

no offence, but why would anybody want your old laptop, even if it is the same specs....just like driving a new car off the lot....

Tech support says i have to send it in (since they need to connect the antenna ......

do you want someone to buy a laptop with bluetooth and then sell it to you, and you sell them your laptop without bluetooth?

I guess you ment just the bluetooth part, didnt know it was removable....my bad
