Since last week, my 4060 has been having trouble staying alive. It started with random reboots, and the system loading to the message "No Operating System Detected." When it did manage to load Windows, it was EXTREMELY slow to the point where it was beyond unusable. However, whenever this happened, leaving the laptop off for about 10 minutes and restarting it made all the problems go away.
These problems have been going on and off with maybe 3 days of normal runtime between them, but when the problems do start up again I simply turn off my computer for 10 minutes and restart it again.
I did a full surface scan of the harddisk, and ran every kind of system-checkup, error-correcting, and virus checking software I have - no errors anywhere.
I want to try to pinpoint what it is. Pure speculation, but I'd say it's bad RAM. Whatever it is, I'm going to try to keep it alive until Thanksgiving break, so I can send it in and not miss any of my schoolwork (college student at Virginia Tech). Anyone have any ideas?
