First time use/charge - can I use the computer?

Thread Starter
Just got my brand new Asus W3A, and I am doing the first charge as we speak. So far the laptop is turned off. What I would like to know is if I use it now (plugged) will it decrease the life of my battery? Is it better to just leave it turned off and charging on its own for the night?

thanks.

I think the Li-Ion batteries used these days don't have the memory effect that older NiMH or NiCd batteries had, so you shouldn't have any problems just using it. That's what I did.
