cpu throttling - Page 2

i know, i was somewhat confused. Only difference i noticed was the test read the fsb speed as slightly slower.

benchmarks are benchmarks...

realworld is realworld... everyone who owns a 5680 knows what i'm talking. play a 3D game.. max payne 2, call of duty, pull ur plug when ur playing and watch your frame rate take a dive!

plug in ur power cord back in, within seconds, your sager is revived.

the benchmarks may be the same whether its on battery...but that's not the point. the point is our games are lagging the second we pull the plug...and our games are back to normal the second we plug it back in....

yup and if its only limiting the fsb how does that save battery power

Try and see what happens if you use battery saver and set the slider to 100%, if that doesnt work, set first 50% then 100%. This could be a new use for the utility

Well, a car that drives half speed uses less gas doesnt it? Anyway, the fsb isnt really downclocked, the cpu is throttling, which means that it are idleing some cycles, but running at same speed.
