iBook 14" vs. Powerbook 12"

Hey,
I am purchasing a laptop for the upcoming school year, as many others, and I am trying to choose between 2 Apple PCs. They are:

iBook 14":
1.42GHz PowerPC G4
512K L2 cache @1.42GHz
512MB memory (DDR333 SDRAM)
14.1-inch TFT Display
1024x768 resolution
ATI Mobility Radeon 9550
32MB DDR video memory
60GB Ultra ATA hard drive
SuperDrive (DVD±RW/CD-RW)
$1520 CAD

Powerbook 12":
1.5GHz PowerPC G4
512MB DDR333 SDRAM
12.1-inch TFT Display
1024x768 resolution
NVIDIA GeForce FX
Go5200 (64MB DDR)
80GB Hard Drive
SuperDrive (DVD±RW/CD-RW)

$1899 CAD

Now, after going with Apple, I accepted the fact that this would not be a gaming machine, which is perfectly alright with me. However, I am slightly concerned about the 32MB of VRAM for the iBook. Will this have any adverse effect on photoshop, word processing, internet use or movies? I don't think it will, but just need some re-assurance.

I am aware that going up to 14 inches does not help increase the resolution, but I am more concerned about general size and watching movies with a friend.

Also, is the HDD in the iBook 5400 RPM? It does not specifically state this so I am slightly concerned.

Otherwise, I assume that the differences between the two notebooks are rather trivial (other than the cost); if there is something else to note then please say so.

Thanks a lot, and hopefully your advice will make this decision easier. Currently, I am leaning towards the cheaper iBook.

The iBook would be great for what you want to do. Right now there's really no difference between the iBooks and the 12inch PowerBook as far as specs go, though the iBooks can only mirror their display if you want to connect an external monitor. There was a hack for the old ones that let them output other resolutions to external monitors but I don't know if anyone's hacked the newly refreshed iBooks yet.

I believe the iBooks are 5400 if you go for the higher capacities.
