Low-profile SODIMMs?

So I'm looking at this particular deal, here, and the description of the item reads that the item was being sold because ". . . It was purchased as an upgrade but is NOT low profile. Please check your requirements . . ."

So when I'm buying laptop memory now, not only do I need to worry about DDRs and PCs, I have to be concerned with the 'high' or 'low' profile of the memory?

I'm assuming this means the guy had bought the memory to upgrade one of those really slim notebooks, but this is the first time I've ever heard of this. Is there anyone out here that can tell me more about this and how to ascertain what kind memory I need?

SODIMMs (Small Outline DIMMs) SDRAM (2.75inch x 1.25inch) were originally developed for use in notebook computers. They are physically smaller than desktop DIMMs and have 144pins. "Low profile" SODIMMs are required in some notebooks with even less space to spare (like iBooks) and these refer to modules which are 1inch or less as measured from the edge with the connection pins to the opposite edge.
