DAMN IT. Why can't DELL wait for my mom's damn credit card to get here first? WHY? WHY? WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHY?

This one is going to come and go again. Get your XPS's while you can now, people. Damn lucky bastards.

That's a solid coupon. Not quite as good as 750 off if you're getting a lofty configuration, but still a very nice discount.

Uh that's not true. It's MUCH better than $750 off if you're getting an expensive PC. I got 40% off my XPS2 and that was around $1240.
Actually the more expensive the system you are buying the better that 40% off is than just $750 rebate. Lets says the system you configure is $1500. That $750 rebate comes out to a 50% savings. Okay, lets say you are going for a XPS Gen2 gaming system thats $3500 with all bells, whistles, and warranties. $3500 - $750 = $2750 if you use the $750 rebate. $3500 - 40% = $2100 ($3500 * 40% = $1400) if you use the 40% rebate.

So as you can see the 40% can be better than the $750 rebate at the higher end. The $750 rebate will be more ideal at the lower cost spectrum. Its going to depend on what system spec you plan to get and the cost of it. The decesion will be different for different people. Just got to sit down and do some simple math to figure out which rebate is best for you.

I also used the 40% coupon today and ordered the first laptop i have ever owned. Not a bad configuration for the price.

PM 740 (1.73GHz)
1 Gb DDR2 (533MHz)
256 Mb nVidia GeForce Go 6800
WUXGA+
80 Gb Hard Drive
8x CD/DVD-DL Burner
Intel Pro/Wireless 2200

Dell Printer 720 (it was free)
D-Link DI-524 Router (+$50)
(Router retails ~$5 less at newegg but i was too lazy to order it seperately for just five dollars)

Grand Total: $1531.38

Hurry and use the coupon!
That total includes tax and shipping.

The 40% coupon has the advantage for high priced laptops, as previously posted, because it saved me $916.

It's also good for $999 laptops, where you'd have to overupgrade in order to be able to use the $600 off $1499 and $750 off $1899 coupons.

Edit---- Blahman said same thing I did

Ya i saved over $800 with mine...this coupon was much better than the 35% off and the $750 off...im goona upgrade my memory through newegg though, Dell is too overpriced.
Yes agreed. This is one of their best coupons to be offered for high end configurations. Especially since it works with the XPS Gen 2. When the 35% coupon came out at the beginning of July, I saved roughly $1100 off a $3000+ order. If you were waiting for a high end laptop, this is the time to buy it. You won't see this discount again for quite some time.
Its no longer working. look like 4,000 ordered using this coupon.
The $750 would have been nice. Since my i9300 order was something like $1650 before the coupon, it would have been $900, but I just used the 40% which ended up bringing the price to $983, including shipping. Dell also ended up giving me some nice concessions, like next day upgrade for free, so it didn't end up being so bad.

I know I have tried with no luck. ((((((((((((((

Coupon has already been redeemed. Wonder if it will come back
post #16 of 36
Looks like no XPS for me...It worked earlier today though. Oh well maybe next time!
yep worked earlier.
Now it's not... & get this... I cancelled my inspiron 9300 in order to buy a gen 2 for nearly the same price. Put the coupon code to see if it worked, it did. I called Dell to cancel my 9300 so I could order the Gen 2. In the time it took to cancel my 9300 and put in my new info, the coupon expired. Sooo, I had to call Dell back up & play phone tag while I found out how to get my old order back I had just canceled, or get the coupon somehow. Well after an hour or so I got my old 9300 order back, but I had to start production all over again.
I'm definately dissapointed in Dell customer support, & not because I couldn't get the coupon, but because of the hassles I had to go through JUST to get my old order back I had canceled only an hour or so prior. 1 guy put me on hold for 20 mins & hung up, a few others transferred me, it was hell.
Oh well, at least I still gonna get my original laptop, just 7 days later now :ugh:
Yea, this is frickin lame. Not even a day later, the cancel the frickin coupon.
according to dell reps, the coupon had already reached it's max amount of redemptions. Which means between now & yesterday, 4000 people ordered insirpon laptops with that particular coupon code. Yea friggin right.

Yep.
