Universal power adapters

Thread Starter
After reading all the posts on the 5680, I am considering buying one for myself.

My concern is that I travel on airplanes, a lot! I have an airline power adapter, which will put out 10-24V DC, and up to 3A. I was just told by a selsperson that the 5680 would not work with any of the universal air or car adapters.

Is this true? If so, is it due to the power draw (he said, and I quote, "The 5680 requires 130V") or is the plug unique?

Thanks!

Perhaps you misunderstood the salesman or he misunderstood the problem.

The new SAGERs take 120 watts of power. Airline jacks put out only around 75 watts. The result is a brown-out which could potentially damage your machine.

There are perhaps a zillion posts on this subject, try doing a search on power adaptors or airplane power or something to that effect.
