I would like external programs to open pages in a new tab, but using that setting forces pages already in IE to do the same... Javascript popups that redirect to another page don't work too well that way. They just open a tab and stay blank.

Otherwise, IE7 (now using RC1) is a HUGE improvement over IE6. They obviously learned a few lessons from the "other guys" about how things should work. Now there is no reason to download an alternate browser for most users.

I aggree IE7 is a big improvment, just like Vista RC1 is noticeably better than beta 2, but I still prefer the tabed system in Firefox and the add-in options are also better so while I use IE7 from time to time I still perfer firefox.

Opera doubled its user base because it became freeware.

I'm surprised AOL hasn't given up on Netscape already.
