Ferrai 4000 WIFI light

Thread Starter
New owner since yesterday of a Ferrari 4005. After playing around with it for an hour I formatted the harddrive and installed Windows XP x64. Now I may be imagining things, but if I remember correctly on factory settings the WIFI light was solid when activated. After installing x64 and the drivers for it, now the WIFI light flashes with each receive/transmission. I am not sure if I am just crazy and didnt notice it before or what. Either way, I find it a little annoying to constently see this flashing orange light. Has anyone discovered what controls this lights functions? Can it be disabled or tweaked?

Thanks.

i also installed x64 ... but there's no function on the wifi light ...

while running x32 it flashes on receive/transmission ...

I'm still running my Ferrari 4005 as it came right out of the box.

It seems to me that the WiFi status light blinks when it is either, powering on the WiFi card, or when it is initially connecting to the AP. ???

Once it is connected, mine stays solid, regardless of data transmission or not.

you're not crazy.

with the default XP32, it

1. didn't work with AVI files (Cat 5.6 problem?)
2. WiFi was solid orange when connected...maybe with it blinking off to signify activity

with XP x64,
1. I'm using Cat 5-7 and AVIs work fine
2. WiFi is off most of the time, but blinks orange with activity. Not sure which I prefer more....

Mine is the same. I think it should be on all the time and blinking when it's active. either that or just solid on because the way it is now if I didn't have the launch manager software on there in some situations I would have no clue if the card was turned on or now. Anyway It will probably get fixed at some point with another driver release... Not a huge biggy to me but no your not crazy. I'm glad you posted about it.

is there any chance that ferrari 3400 wifi light will become flased??

i'm more like flashing wifi light rather than solid light.. is there anyone know how to do it??

well it does it if you have winxp64 it just doesn't light up at all to let you know that its on so its kinda confusing sometimes. I've turned mine off a fiew times thinking I was turning it on; that sorta thing....

Yup i concur the Broadcom x64 driver works different than its 32 version.
Personally i prefer the blinking light since i can see there's data transfer activity when it blinks

The wifi and bluetooth devices, would have "Bluetooth enabled" or "wifi/lan enabled" appear in green letters on my screen, but since I downloaded some M$ updates, The Wifi doesn't manually turn on or off(with the front button) and has no message display as described above....Bluetooth can be switched on/off with front button but no display as well...It worked in the beginning but not now. The orange light just blinks when data is being transferred on wifi...Strange?? I wish it would work again...
