Since Half Life 2 is so cheap now, I bought myself a copy and tried it on my laptop.

Not too shabby but I need to get more ram, I wonder how it will run BF2.

Where'd you get HL2 for cheap? How much?

Thanks.

CompUSA has it for $20.

I went to Bestbuy and pricematched, paid around $18 for it. I should've got the collectors edition though.

What are the rest of your specs? I'm very interested in the i6000d and this thread just increased my anticipation

I wonder how my 64mb X300 will run it...

NIIIIIIICe so F those who though the x300 was a weak POS
post #7 of 32
^^^ Exactly what I was thinking... I am under the impression that those people who put the x300 down are those who MUST play their games with max AA/AF, since Allan is apparently getting really good framerates with Max settings.

I am curious, though, Could you possibly test out BF2? Either the Demo or Full-version would be good, as I don't think there is too much of a performance difference between the 2.

Thanks.

is this what you bought? I wanted to get cs:s but this says it comes with counter strike. Im new to half life. so what would i need to play source? it seems to be the most popular half life. and is there a counter strike in half life 2?
sorry for sounding like a n00b, but ive only had a machine capable of playing games for a month or so...

Just buy Half-Life 2, and you'll get CS:S too, its a pack-in
post #10 of 32
the 20 dollar price tag on the link i sent is very nice...
is there anyway to play cs:s with that? and sorry for hijacking the thread for a bit
post #11 of 32
Nope, thats just a collection for the original Half Life, you'll need Half-Life 2. For some reason, its not showing up as $20, but $50, but thats what you need. Shop around for it, its on sale everywhere once in a while

Print this ad out (Landscape)
Take it to Best Buy or Circuit City.
Have them price match the ad for you.
Walk out of store.
Profit.
hmm, do you think they would accept the ad since theres no date on it, and they cant see the store name?

It worked for me, also if you look more carefully the store name (CompUSA) is stated all over that ad.
