Calling all OCZ Ram Owners !!!

Thread Starter
In advance: I have searched the forums and found only about 4 people with OCZ ram .. I am just wondering, did any of you RMA it ? I want 2 GB of ram ( 2 1GB ) with no Rma's. Trancend is a big no no. So I was wondering, are the OCZ sticks good ?

In my opinion, Kingston is also a big no no. I got 2gig bad sticks.

Mine is fine. Didn't run 9 billion hours of memtest tho (or any for that matter).

I got a couple of random blue screens. I ran memtest86 overnight and got 49 errors after 16 passes.

I currently have a 1 gig stick in my xps2 with no problems yet. ran memtest overnight with no errors. I will be ordering another stick soon. Coulnd't get both sticks at once because the wife bitches if I spend over 200 bucks, but she doesn't even notice if I spend about 100

Ran Memtest last nigth on my 2GB of OCZ and got 2 errors in 10 full passes. (sigh) Also, just a moment ago I got my first hard lock / bluescreen.

question
are you guys getting Cas 3 or Cas 4 memory? Can the memory actually run at Cas 3? Crucial & corsair would probably be solid performers. I have to purchase a gig stick soon too & I'm curious what brand seems to be giving the least amount of problems.

I'm running a single OCZ 1gig stick right now with no errors, but I need to run some longer tests. I hope to get another 1gig stick soon too!

Running 2 (2GB) sticks in each of my XPS2's - (I have 2) - so 4 sticks - no problems so far. Have yet to run mem tests because did not see a need.

I've been running 2GB of OCZ from NewEgg without any problems for over a month now. Not a single error or BSOD.
i've got 2gbs of ocz. only ran memtest1.6 for 9hs but got NO errors. works great so far. got them for $109 a piece on newegg.

runs @ 4-4-4-12 according to cpu-z b/c of dell's bios

I haven't installed mine yet becuase they're in a different country. (long story) I will be there on Tuesday monring and will install them and start memtest right away. I leave again on Monday, so if there are errors I'll RMA them back to newegg first thing Monday morning.

I hope they do well, this will be my last chance to upgrade my RAM for several months. (same long story)

Why is Kingston a No No? I have ran it in desktops before and it was fine. I just ordered 2 Gigs of Kingston from Newegg for my new 9300. The CAS latency is the same as the OCZ, and I always heard Kingston makes decent memory. Is it known to be otherwise?

Got fort the same price from "EGG" - only wish they were not in CA so I would not have to pay sales tax...

Kingston is a Yes Yes from me. No errors. 2GB

OCZ ram is among the best in the industry. They have a fantastic RMA support.

Oh give me a break guys, let's not be fanboys . It's true that OCZ makes some of the best overclocking memory, but that doesn't even matter here. These are sticks running at stock speeds with no room for overclocking: buy whichever is the cheapest and be happy with your saved money. I have 2GB of Transcend and both sticks work flawlessly. And guess what, if one didn't, I'd RMA it and get another because newegg has a fantastic RMA policy .

I had two sticks of Kingston because none of this matters.

Blue screens exiting WoW, LOADS of memtest errors. Returned to Newegg.

I have to get whatever has the best chance of working (without spending a stupid amount of money) because I don't even live in the country and getting the stuff is a PITA. I just need it to work. I ordered OCZ the second time because it's reputed to be good quality.
