PCMCIA remote control and instant-on software?

ok, I've got a question... is it possible to purchase Intervideo's Instant-on software and a PCMCIA remote control? I know some laptops (HP DV1000 and others) come with the remote and instant-on software. I just bought a MSI 1032 and on the MSI website it used to list remote control and dual-boot capability, but it no longer lists that. I was wondering if I could buy those things instead. any help would be appreciated! thanks!

its not a pcmcia remote, its works on IR, but FITS in the pcmcia slot! its really cool and was actually looking at that for myself. There are other options out there if you google something like "usb remote control". Something called firefly i think thats like that and also google "WinLIRC", its a freeware remote programming tool, lil more complicated to use from what i've read, but give it a shot. gl hf.

I know it's an IR remote control, but I don't want a big remote, just one that fits in a pcmcia slot. My laptop has a built-in IR reciever, so now I just have to find a remote.

This is all I can find on google for remotes: Formosa21 Inc. I'll look into your suggestions though.

you can actually buy the hp one off the website:

maybe the software i mentioned above can hack it and make it useable for non-hp software.
