Toshiba A10 - Dead Batteries or Dead Computer???

Hi,

My A10 shuts off after about 5 minutes on battery power, so I bought a new one last week on ebay. The seller said that the battery was tried and tested to work fine, but it too does the same thing after just 5 minutes.

Both batteries take the normal ammount of time to fully charge, but only 5 minutes to drain. Are these two batteries dead, or could there be something going on with my computer???

The battery that the guy sold you he said was tried and worked fine. That could mean exactly what you have a 5 min working battery. If it was a brand new one and doing that, you would at least know that it is something else. It is hard to say with the battery being a "used one".

yeah, saugen has it right on that one, but as for the machine it could be any number of issues...it really is best to buy only new batteries not used.
