I have a Compal CL56 computer (basically same thing as Acer Travelmate 290-series)
Everything with this computer has been fine until recently.
After a while of using the computer (most noticeably while playing a game) all of a sudden some of the keys on my keyboard stop working, but not all of them, just letters q,w,e,r,u,i,o,p and the up-arrow and left-arrow. after waiting about 30 seconds or so they start working again, but some seconds after stop working again. I don't really notice this problem when i'm not playing games.
I already removed the keyboard and re-plugged it in to see if that would make a difference.
This problem is not do to software, i already tried re-installing the operating system. Right now I think its due to overheating, but if that was true, why would the up-arrow and left-arrow stop working, the part of the computer it's over generates very little heat
The other thing which might be causing the problem is that the keyboard itself is damaged, or the thing paper-like cable leading away from it.
Two questions.
1. Which reason is the most likely one (or if neither, post your idea)
2. Where would I find a replacement keyboard for this computer. Since it isnt a "mainstream" computer it's not showing up on google when i search for its partnumber, and the company from which i bought it is now out of business.
Please help!
Thanks.
