I recently bought an ASUS A2K Laptop and I've spent the last week trying to configure the beast to my liking. However, it seems that there is some drivers/software that is missing from the installation CD that came with the notebook.
In the software manual on the CD, they show a HOTKEY application that would allow me to remap the four notebook hotkeys, but I have not been able to find this on the CD or even on the download/support section of the ASUS website.
I have read about switching HCONTROL with a custom one, but that particular HCONTROL seems to have been modded with one notebook in mind (the M6N) which has more buttons. Also, it seems that the HCONTROL for that notebook sets some keys in the registry that can then be modified, while the HCONTROL on my notebook seems to have no registry keys whatsover. This leads me to the conclusion that I'm stuck with whatever "BEST" hotkey settings the people at ASUS decided on.
Someone please tell me there is something I can do. This isn't such a big issues for me, but it is a nagging one ... sort of like having a dead pixel on your LCD, it doesn't really affect your laptop performace but every time I look at those dormant hotkeys, I get really irritated.
