Overlay problem

I recently got a 8890 with a UXGA screen. Freqently while watching something in a media player that uses the overlay, theres a band of slightly lighter screen that's roughly 1 inch wide and roughly 1 inch away from the left side of the screen. Note, this is only in the overlay, and only visible when the overlay intersects with that part of the screen. The band is not a solid band; it's more like many horizontal lines stacked one upon another, with the occaisional break between them, and some discolorations (with the video I'm watching now, there's a blue mark about 1/3rd of the way across the bands). Also, the bands change with seemingly randomness over time.

A quick search of this forum yielded no other people reporting this problem. Is this fixable (e.g. are my ATI Catalyst 3.7 drivers doing this), or do I have to send my 8890 back during winter break (I'm a student, and NEED this laptop for schoolwork)? -.-

I don't know who/what Bueler is but that web page has a blue stripe where you are indicating.

Have you been taking your medications properly?

But does it have a lighter blue stripe that only appears when I move the blue part of the webpage over the problem area of my screen? Don't assume I'm a moron, thanks. And yes, I HAVE been taking my medications properly, how about you?

Looks fine to me

even from my "bad eye" It does display differently on mine from IE or Mozilla but appears normal just the same.

^ Interesting, that image shows the problem too. Great, I must have gotten a bad/damaged screen. >.< Ray, thanks for the input. MARQUISDARQUIS, go rent Ferris Bueller's Day Off right now, it's a fantastic movie.

Don't take Marquis too seriously. He is bored and just feeling left out because he doesn't know who Ferris is .

Great movie btw. I think there is a little bit of Ferris in all of us.
