ferrari 4000 fan noise - maybe the solution

Hi guys,

I was wondering if you can reduce the fan noise by removing the black plastic film under the grill right under the fan. Turn your notebook backside and you will notice that the grill where you can find the cover for ram & wlan card is totally free. There's only one place where the grill is covered by a thin black plastic film between the fan & grill. This film avoids the fan getting full air flow...

Before I try to open this baby, I want to hear what you guys think about?

Please help, the noise drives me insaine!!!

The "noice" is probably due to and extra powerfull quallity fan since the X700 GPU has a very high factory clock to maintain coolness and stabillity. I would just be happy they didn't cut corners on the cooling aspect of the Ferrari 4005wlmi, and so it runs stable and does not broil your fingers (and what not). I would not tamper with the cooling system of the Ferrari 4005. This is the 4:th generation Ferrari so I think they know what they are doing.

I'm Concidering this very notebook myself as I have waited so long for the MS-1029 and suddenly I have enough to get the Ferrari 4005wlmi...! scarry...
