Does that mean the Mighty Mouse doesn't work with all of the cool things running when in XP?

what cool things do you mean? maybe you have a mouse with special software for it. but if you plug in a mouse without installing a cd or anything its like that, like it still has the middle click scroll option.

lol i use a ball mice at work cause their too cheap, but i really dont mind it, it works great, im pure optical 1600 dpi at home though. If you have no money keep on using that ball. When i started working i went expensive optical all the way. but seriously its not THAT critical, unless you want something more sophisticated like the MIGHTY MOUSE.

am i the only one that has this mouse? if anyone has it please post your opinions.

Well, does the mouse run at it's best without the software? Like, does it run at the 1600dpi and stuff?

the logitech MX500 is the best mouse out there if you don't game. If you do game however the razor diamondback is uncomparable. You get use to the high resolution quick and the smoothness of the mouse is un comparable. I love both.
How ever...the mighty mouse looks beautifull

The plain mouse (no driver updates) adds Expose functions with the drivers adding Spotlight functions with 10.4.2 updates. I happened into a Mighty Mouse for free due to a oversight on Apples part. http://www.notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=101874

ball is oldschool! Just like fashion, the ball will come back. No doubt about it!

So will 200mb harddrives, black and green monitors and domination of apple computers!

not really. In windows it still functions fine, just no shortcut buttons, like Expose or dashboard. I love mine since its on OSX 10.4. It may not be 1600 DPI, but with the sensitivity turned up, this mouse is damn sensitive. I love mine!!!

ZX81 has disabled reputation
mouse & osx86

My logitech MX518 has hardware dpi changes, click up and down, and it works with OSX tiger running on dell 9300. Maybe it'll work on a mac since that feature is driverless?

and original poster, have you tried running osx86 on your machine? It works great, better than just skinning the look, you can dual boot with XP to keep your windows functionality

So a good mouse will have functions built into the hardware, so no drivers need to be installed?

i think configuring your windows to look like a mac is cool but I would not go buy a Mighty Mouse just for that. The Mighty Mouse, dare I say, sucks for the wireless one but the wired one is good. If you bought the BT Mighty Mouse you have wasted your money. I rather spend $10 more and buy a Logitech MX900 which is way better and has a dock for recharging rather that having to pull out the battery to recharge on a Mighty Mouse.

I have the BT Might Mouse (Came bundled with the Mac Pro) and I must say it is very nice, what sucks about it? The stupid secondary click. It's not 100% accurate, you can't play games with that (FPS). So much that i have it set to the ball, lol

so it's good for web browsing and regular stuff (i use it for my macbook now, easy to carry around if i need an external mouse)

but i'd invest in the mac keyboard and mouse set that logitech makes.
