Only way they're going to do it is by logging more calls with PC Torque and Sager. I've done a ton of background work that is so far unparalleled by anyone posting here on the bluetooth problems (see the DO NOT BUY BLUETOOTH thread - soon to be bumped up!), sorry that I can't help on the wifi side.

Also, since no one bothered/knew how to do a packet analysis, I'm reluctant to personally do any more physical work after I was personally attacked by some mainframe guy in Omaha who said I was all wrong - when everything I forecasted has occurred for well over a month and we now have an abundance of unanswered both WiFi+Bluetooth questions sitting on this board, with new 9880's being sold to customers everyday soon to be experiencing similar problems.

I think some questions would be answered in the interim if somebody experiencing this would download ethereal or equiv and start watching packets....it might be fixable with config tricks if the same driver is working fine in Linux...

Atype - I'm with you on this, just venting here. Please post any updates or thoughts you have. Even if no one else here cares or reads it, I do.

does it matter which way the notebook faces the router as to the signal strengh you have? The idea there is that the antenna may be on one side of the screen and not all the way around it, or if it doesnt matter then maybe the antenna is not hooked up at all. I am beginning to think its a bad card, another option is to change the default channel because there maybe intereference with other electronic devices in the area or other routers. Last thought can you take your notebook out somewhere and see if you can pick up other AP's. Thought here is if you can then there is something at your home that is interfering with it. Honestly a cordless phone, cell phone, microwave's do interfere with wireless networks since they operate so closely on the same frequency. Guess I am just thinking of all the possible things that could be causing this problem. To me it seems like the card is only putting out half the power it is suspose to considering your having trouble with bluetooth also. Maybe you can RMA for a new card? its just a thought and get an intel card. Have a great one and good luck.

OK guys i KNOW the answer.
If u hava problem with signal strength u can change AUX or MAIN by removing the 9880 keyboard and the metal sheet under it (5 screws) then u locate the wireless card by name (802.11 G on it) and there is 2 pins one is AUX and one is MAIN to change it remove the wireless which will be on either one (by simply pulling it up) and placing it on the other pin (AUX or MAIN, ur choice)...and voilaaaaaa !!
Amazing how simple it is !! i'll update with pics wen i bring the digicam back

Please be clear with the issues here folks. Clearly you had indicated you had experienced the driver problems of others....that signal strength antenna plug solution was indicated in another thread...
