Windows XP Pro SP2 Install Sata drivers

I had to send my 9860 in for service (that darn video card went out). I had to reformat the hard drive. The only copy of XP Pro I have has SP2 already intergrated in it which of course isn't working with the ATA HD drivers. Is there anyway around this? Could I put the drivers in the copy. I'm kind of an idot on this so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Dave

Just treat it like any Windows installation and put the SATA drivers on floppy disk before installing, enable the floppy in BIOS and boot to CD, sometime in beginning of XP installation you press F5 (or F-something) to load third-party drivers when prompted and you can select the proper driver off the floppy.

Search this forum and you will come up with some well thought out instructions on the whole process. I think even they have it in the user manual too.

I made a post on this. The BIOS pics may be out of date but should work fine for installing in ATA Mode.

Slipstream the drivers

I slipstreamed the drivers needed onto a new CD which contained Windows and then used it instead of the original CD which didn't contain the necessary drivers for (my) 9880. So, that enabled me to redo my 9880 with the drivers for the network slipstreamed onto the newly created Window CD so I could join a domain with my Media Center 2005 Edition of Windows. But the same can be done w/pretty much any version of Windows.
I used Nlite to do it.
