Unhappy Can't update video drivers

I did a fairly thorough search of these forums for a related issue and didn't find anything so please forgive me if this has already been answered many times before:

I have a M6805 which came with Windows XP home. The OS didn't come with it's own install disks just a Ghost image of another 6805's hard drive.

Whenever I try to update my ATI drivers I get an "INF error: Video driver not found" error message which then goes on to tell me to install a VGA driver.

I tried dealing with this issue online with a eMachines tech but she was more interested in selling me stuff as opposed to getting to the problem at hand.

She did instruct me to re-install the driver from the utility disk eMachines provided but I only ended up with the same problem.

Is there a basic Windows XP vga driver I can install or some other workaround?

Any help offered would be appreciated.

ATI's drivers will not install on a mobile chipset (except the newer "x" series mobiles) without being modded. You can install some that have already been modded. I.E. www.omeadrivers.net

It worked!

I could have sworn I had tried to install the Omega drivers before but to no avail.

Now I am the happy owner of a M6805 with new graphics drivers, a flickering screen and a crack on the hinge plastic. How d'ya like me now?

...now to go play Battlefield 2 with all graphics settings set to max.

Thank you. Thank you very much.
