Sager 4780 review
SAGER 4780 pricing
The Sager 4780 plays big brother to the 4760 with a faster processor, FSB, and GPU. Here's some random pics of the unit and what it comes with: ![]() The system came with the following software:
All the above software was already installed from the factory as it always is if you order it with an OS. It also comes with a paperback manual that is on the drivers CD also in .pdf format. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here's a shot of the built in card reader that's standard. ![]() A shot of the rear ports. It will run a dual display with an external monitor using it as either an attached display or a cloned display for presentations. ![]() ![]() ![]() The LCD is very nice looking and is the same LCD and view as the 4760 which is the same as the Apple Powerbook and many of the other 17" widescreen notebooks out there. Here's a couple pics from the 4760 review showing the LCD in action: ![]() ![]() ![]() Here's the interface for the Tv Tuner. You just plug the adapter in it comes with and screw your cable TV coax into it. The AverTV Studio software will auto recognize the channels for you and you can channel surf with the remote. ![]() ![]() ![]() Using the SIS chipset you can not utilize dual channel DDR as you can with the Intel chipsets in the Sager 5680 and the Sager 8890. ![]() ![]() 4400mah battery tested 1 hour and 14 minutes of DVD playback right out of the box from Sager after taking it up to a 100% charge. That's with the sound system turned up and everything set to default. Unfortunately, it's not easily swappable when you're on the go like the 5680. 4 screws and a connecter and you've got it out =). ![]() 4 screws and you're at the hard drive which you have to carefully disconnect from the flaxprint connector to remove. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The keyboard was very solid and the speakers sound great for a laptop, but it's still a laptop and the speakers aren't going to try and fool you into thinking you can rattle some windows. After popping in the generic batteries the remote came with the system booted right up remotely by just pushing the "power" button on the remote. This remote controls everything form the TV tuner to the whole system if you're patient enough to try and nagigate Windows using it lol. It is very convienient for those watching TV, playing a DVD, giving a presentation, or trying to just say you can do it =) BENCHMARKS: UT2K3 800 X 600 Flyby 185 800 X 600 Botmatch 73 1024 X 768 Flyby 128 1024 X 768 Botmatch 71 1600 X 1200 Flyby 55 1600 X 1200 Botmatch 43 X2 The Threat ave FPS benchmark 62FPS GunMetal Benchmark 1 LOW/AVE/HIGH 9.28/14.67/50.25 BENCHMARKS Sandra 2004 CPU ALU 9884 Sandra 2004 CPU FPU 3991 Sandra 2004 CPU SSE 6952 Sandra 2004 Multi-Media Integer 24405 Sandra 2004 CPU Multi-Media Float 35275 Sandra 2004 Memory Bandwidth 2767/2768 This 17" beast weighed in @ 9.5lbs with the battery.
