System Utilities: Dell Notebook System Software

Is it something you've installed?

I formated my computer and I'm installing drivers right now. Just don't know if it's usefull or not.

System Utilities: Dell Notebook System Software, Utility, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Multi Language, Multi System, v.3.11.0, A18

Notebook System Software (NSS) is a utility that provides critical updates and patches for your operating system. Install the NSS program to gain support for Dell 3.5-inch USB floppy drives, Intel Pentium-M processors, CD-ROM/CD-RW/DVD drives, Infrared (IR) communications, and USB devices. NSS is necessary for correct operation of your Dell portable computer, including the Dell D/Bay, D/Dock, D/Port, and D/View family of docking devices. NSS automatically detects your computer and operating system and installs the updates appropriate for your configuration.

I don't remember installing it. I'm running fine.

I formatted, installed XP, installed SP2, installed my chipset and video drivers, and then all other drivers. Once that was done I defragged for clarity and haven't had an issue since.

Anything beyond drivers that Dell gives with it's computer is unecessary and bloatware, you dont need it unless you dont know how to do those options in windows.

The chipset from Intel is the only driver that you need in this respect I believe. I did not choose to install this and everything is fine. Get the newest drivers for everything and leave off this Dell bloatware. You lose nothing.
