and put the drivers in the root directory on the Floppy Disk.

I remember reading people having problems with SATA Drives in general but can't recall how they fixed it, if they did.

I got Vista installed with the drivers...

Copy them to the root of the floppy.

DISABLE the card reader in BIOS.

Very important step there...

Right now, I am trying to find wireless 64 bit drivers (combo wifi/bt)

You need to get drivers which are Certified by Microsoft themselves. I got a hold of some drivers which have been modified so they work. And they actually worked for me. Installed Vista in about 30 mins, and didnt get the stupid error on boot. Throw me and email if you need the functioning driver.

Btw.
Microsoft have made it so you may install non-certified drivers, but you CANT use them. This means that if you install a non-certified driver your computer will crash everytime that specific driver is loaded. Hope this helps... took me 9 hours to finally figure everything out.

Ugh. Required signed drivers is actually planned to be a feature of 64 bit Vista, so they are probably leaving it in to test it out. Would be nice to tell people about it though, so they don't waste so much time figuring it out.

FYI, my unsigned 32bit XP Promise ulsata driver seems to be working just fine even after rebooting into Vista.

Edit: Was looking for info on other Beta 2 issues on my 9860 and came across this thread that might be of help to folks still having trouble: http://www.planetamd64.com/index.php...23640&hl=Vista

And that is because your drivers are signed. Im using 64 bit Vista 5456 and used some modified (signed) drivers and they work without any problems.
The link you provided I found from google and read it when this problem occured. I think they left out the link to the driver, and took me a while to find it.

I have verified that my 32 bit Promise drivers are in fact unsigned, and I suspect that the Sager provided XP 64 bit drivers are unsigned also. The signed driver requirement is evidently limited to the 64 bit version of Vista. However the thread I posted indicates that signed driver checking can be disabled through the advanced boot options menu recieved after pressing F8 on bootup.
