Depends on who you deal with I would imagine.

it might, if you screw it up. otherwise, how would they know? they will never open it up to check cause that would ruin the thermal pad.

Just did a successful upgrade to the 7800GTX. To everyone who provided info on what to buy and what to do for the upgrade, thanks.

Newb question

Just did succesful (I hope) 7800 upgrade (on a 9300).
I have a stupid question. After you flash the bios to A05, the bios startup no longer says XPS gen 2, is that correct?
Other than that everything seems great!

That's how it is on mine, doesn't say XPS gen 2 since the update to A05 but still works great, did a 2 hour gaming session with no problems at all.

Doh, posted this question previously in the wrong thread:

Can anyone recommend a good Ebay seller to buy the 9 cell battery from? So many choices, not sure who is trustworthy. Thanks!

Mid-way down on page 12 of this thread has some recommendations for the adapter. I believe that seller also sells the batteries...

Ok, thanx. that's who I bought the adapter from... didn't realize he sold the battery too. The title for his battery listings state that it is a Genuine Dell part, but in the description, it doesn't actually mention that it is an actual Dell battery, just that it is compatible. Anyone ACTUALLY order from hoctcomputers and received the battery?

Thanks

Here's a battery that says ORIGINAL in the title and description from the same people.

Thanks for those that contributed the great information. I am waiting on my PM 1.60 to PIN mod off E-Bay for $93.00. I just won an E-Bay bid on a 6800 Ultra card for $160.00. Next and lastly are the battery and AC adapter. I'll be selling my Go card after things are up and running good. Once again, great detailed information and I hope it goes successfully. I'm pretty confident in my skills to do the job.

My current 3DMark05 score is 4300 with the Go card. I used NVTweak to bump it up from about 3400. Hopefully I'll see some good results.

I'm not worried about screwing it up. I just didn't know if they would bother looking at the video card and seeing that the thermal pad had been removed.

Hi there folks, i haven't bought my i9300 yet, but i'm seriously considering it. and of course adding a 7800GTX to it. But of course I have a few questions first

- Does the 9 cell battery stick out from the casing?
- How long will the battery last only running on the 9 cell battery.
- What do 7800GTX go for @ ebay? (i'm currently watching this, but i might get a faster answer here)
- And once you flash the bios, will you have to repeat these steps everytime you format og reinnstall windows?

I know this is alot, but thanks in advance

Merry christmas to all!
