Thanks for posting. Too expensive though. I could probably sell my 9300 and get an M170(through AAFES) for the same price.

7800 400+++? I thought it would be more like 600+++

Sweet, the cheaper the better

Depends on who it's through... they may void it if you modified it.

Shouldn't be much to it, if you already know the basics like don't try to force things, etc.

I'm sure they would void it if they can find out you did it. If something happens just put the other hardware back in. Hopefully they wouldn't notice a hacked BIOS installed

So does the 7800 actually need the more powerful XPS2 power supply? I know setting up the 9300 with the XPS2 BIOS makes it require the XPS2 powersupply. I wish we could get a hacked 9300 BIOS that would support the 7800 (If the card actually requires that power increase that is fine then).

Nice post, I am glad to know that I can upgrade to the 7800 eventually.

It needs the extra power, from both the battery and the power supply.

i just talked on the phone with the nice dell rep.. she said the 7800 gtx is out of stock and that she will contact the warehouse to request for it , and she ll get back to me in 2-3 days... man... hope the part number here in the forums is not for the desktop card.... but for whats it worth, she did say it was a laptop card... its just that elsewhere in these forums people have mistakenly ordered the 7800 desktop version... ill keep you posted and hopefuly i can make this 7800 work in my 9300
