it's already been posted, read a couple of posts up and you'll find it.

you mentioned 7800, but you want the 7800GTX. look up part number HF594 on ebay and it should turn it up. the regular 7800 will not fit, and if you jam it in there, will not be recognized.

Ok i bought the dell 9300 off of ebay along time ago and when i got it i had a problem where verticle coloured lines where running down the screen and if i turned lcd expansion on the screen flashed on and off, im guessing this is a faulty graphics card. I have tried an external display and countless drivers. Has anyone had anything similar or could confirm that its the graphics card? I was thinking of getting a new card for it cause i hate siting around with a broken laptop, i waswonering if its possible to downgrade to a x300? even though the upgrade to 6800 ultra was done, or if the 7800 gtx would solve my problem?

Definitely sounds like the video card to me. It would be absolutely confirmed if you got these problems at the Dell BIOS screen. You can use either the X300, X600, 6800, 6800U, or 7800 GTX. Only the 6800U and 7800GTX will require the XPS2 BIOS.

Hey guys. I happen to have a big overclocking question for the 7950 go gtx. I'm planning on opening the whole m1710 up tommorow and replacing the t7600 with a g one, along with AS5ing the crap outta stuff and putting in two new fans.
MY questions are (GC oriented);
What can I do about the Video Card Ram Chips? They definately get steaming. Is it safe to apply AS5 to them? Can I add extra to make up for the thickness of any thermal pads I find? Should I leave the thermal pads on? Use them in conjunction with the AS5? Or forget even taking the video card out all together? (This is to achieve lower temps with the new fans I have and higher clock rates now that my cpu will be able to process more fps to the video card to compose.)
and Second
Would there be anything else I could do to lower the temps of the ram? (such as a fan blowing inside, etc. anything creative if it turns out that taking the card apart isn't that wise after all. I have a really small fan I'm talking really small, that might work.).
And finally, where would one buy thermal pads anyways? I can't seem to find them anywhere really accessible.

Thanks for your help mates. I really do.
appreciate it.
BTW I've posted a few times just because I wasn't quite sure where this belonged. I hope to hear from you guys.
