I am having issues... not too unusual. I tried many different ways, but still having problems getting that bootrom.iso to boot up. I have WinISO right now. Anyone have any ideas?

I tried extracting all the .iso files and made a boot disk and still no luck. I installed CDBurner XP Pro 3 and that is a nice free program. I'd think that burning that file over direst to CD and making it bootable would work. I guess things are against me.

Thanks for this great tool hammermd (^_^)!

I D/Led 3Dmark05, didn't turn off background processes and did a series of test...

#1) 6806 from 440/1.25GHz
#2) 6801 " " 450/1.25GHz
#3) 6892 " " 460/1.20GHz
#4) 7577 " " 460/1.20GHz

In the first three test I had LaptopVideo2Go Modified NVIDIA ForceWare 83.40 installed, waited about ten min. between test.
With test #4 I uninstalled the LaptopVideo2Go driver and updated with XTreme-G_MobileForce_84.25-v2.30_GS.exe, then CABOOM! Afterwards playing F.E.A.R. and noticing a few artifacts after about an hour of play then none for the second hour. I then checked the GPU temp and it read in the upper 70s C. I love this stuff!

My machine is an M170/2.26GHz/2GB RAM/7800GTX with sweaty key pads.

Further updates with tweaking after XTreme-G_MobileForce_84.25-v2.30_GS and a question...

#5) 7439 from 440/1.25GHz
#6) 7423 " " 450/1.20GHz
#7) 6585 " " 470/1.20GHz
#8) 7513 " " 460/1.20GHz

My question is this... After installing the XTreme-G drivers QUAKE 4 will not start, all other games work great. I did a search though the forum and didn't find anything after 20 pages. When I execute the game I get a white screen followed by a message "Quake 4 has encounted a problem and needs to shut down..." (>_<)!

EDIT: Never mind, I D/Led the latest patches for the game and it works now.

I've read this whole thing threw and it looks like fun, my only concern is the temperatures. My new M170 runs about 58c idle about 80c with most of my games running for between half an hour and an hour. (Guildwars, BFME2, Oblivion, UT2004,) but AOE III kicked it up to 101c that scared the crap out of me. I’m on a clean install with laptoptogo drivers. Used the nivida temperature reading. I later installed an aluminum USB laptop cooler on it now and that helped bring AOE temps down to about 91c. I know these things are good for 115, but man that is hot.

So here is my question. If I OC this bad boy to something mild like 425/1200 how much do you think my temps will go up, and is it worth it? Also can the drivers affect the temperatures as well?
I’m toying with the idea of AS5 just to be on the safe side. But that will probably be later on this summer when I have more time. Plus this unit is brand spankin new and I’m not in the mood to peal it open so soon. Thanks for great thread all

If your going to start playing around with overclocking then you may as well apply AS5 now and learn how to apply it properly. Since your hitting 101c now, overclocking the card is only going to increase that temperature.

What's the highest 3dMark score anyone's got from the 7800GTX? I reckon I could get 8k if I upped the core to 500mhz.

Does the A04 Bios help keep it cooler as opposed to the A05? Will the A04 still see the 7800gtx

I am running a 7800GTX Go with the A04 BIOS. From everything I have read, the A05 offers no benefit, so I never tried it.

Mr. K6 has the highest I've seen here for the 7800GTX Go in 3DMark05 - 8433 I believe (too lazy to find his signature).

Btw, how many people have tried this and ruined their cards during a "bad flash"? Is there anything you can do to help ensure that you're going to do it right? Are there "wrong" ways to flash these cards? I want to flash mine but I want to make sure I do things the right way.

I overclocked my card to 440/1250 a couple days ago and it's been working great. I let the ATITool scanner run for an hour and no errors were detected. I think I'll leave it where it's at for now.
