It is an exe because it is a self-extractable zip file. I can't really help if you don't trust that I wouldn't give you a virus. You can even look up laptopvideo2go on google and see that we are legit.

You may want to open both of these roms in NiBiTor and make sure they have the same "BIOS version". If they don't then PM me. I have a link to NiBiTor in my signature under bootable recovery.

That said, I have only seen one version of the 7800GTX bios and it will most likely work. The 780GTXS is the stock rom and the 780GTXU is the unlocked rom.

Thanks. I have checked with NiBiTor and the 780GTXS should do its job.
At the moment i am trying to do a blind flash.
Have eveything disconnected (HD, DVD) and try to boot from a USB stick.

http://www.notebookforums.com/thread181387.html

This was a very interesting thead.

My blue XPS lights are all on (so it should be posting) but no num-lock-led and no boot from the usb-media.

Think i will give him a few hours of time....

PS I have reseted the XPS Bios. Hopefully it is at standard setting and trying to boot....

You should post there. It seems like the BIOS will initiate the boot eventually. The only thing that could go wrong now would be that nvflash does not recognize your card anymore. I can give you a few pointers need be but I'm about to go eat now.
