Well, I think I might know what the problem is. I could have to do with something as stupid as me not burning the .rom files properly. I was just burning them straight onto the CD that contains the .iso you gave everyone. The files seem to burn ok and show up when I do a dir/w but there must be something screwed with just straight burning. I'm going to download the new .iso you provided and try that. Did you by chance put any 1350 mem clock .roms on there? Anyone else try that high?

No, I didn't. You should be able to edit the .iso with any program that allows this...it was created with UltraISO, so you might try that (jam it in a Google)...

The problem was I was just burning the .roms straight onto the CD and not editing the ISO...duh
Works fine now, thanks hammermd.
Although, I flashed to 450/1350 and ran 3DMark05. Artifacts started appearing during the final test. Score was 7518..will have to throttle back a bit

EDIT: flashed to 440/1350, 440/1300 still had some artifacts on the final test. Flashed to 450/1250 and ran two tests: 7455 with no artifacts that I could see. Running ATI tool would probably show something, but if I can't see it, I don't care..lol

I'm having the same problem as you were. I tried to edit ISO with Nibtor but I can't get to any of the .rom files. What program are you using to edit the ISO file? I know Nibtor is for .rom editing
Thanks

Nevermind- It helps to read all the post in a thread-I needed to burn as a image- I was burning as a boot disk

Im getting 7600 in 3dmark at 450/1250 and temps are good. Unfortunately, if I run ATItool for about 40 minutes I get an artifact and then nothing else for another 30-40min. It's nothing that the human eye can detect so should I care? I'm hesitent to keep flashing after hearing about some problems others have had. I'd love some advice please Should I stay where I am and live with the ATI tool artifact or should I flash again and lower to 445/1250?

8bit, system specs and driver version / setting?

BTW your fine at 450 ATI really stresses your card out, more then the games you will be playing so it should be a safe setting. If you don't mind though and you want a little more stability then it might be a good idea to bump down to 445

If you decide to go down to 445/1250 plz tell me the 3dmark 05 score, I can't tell if an extra 5 for the core makes that big of a difference.

Specs in sig now. I'm gonna stay at my current 450/1250. If its unstable, I'm sure BF2 will crash on me really quick as it seems to find any weaknesses in a system. If it doesn't crash, then I'm staying here. In a cold room 60(f) I was stable at 460/1250 and getting 7700 in 3dmark. At 460/1200, my score was only 7450. I only get an artifact at my current speed when my GPU gets up to 90c and then its still only an ATI tool artifact. My idle temp is around 53c in a 73(f) room, and it loads in games at 86c. I think I'm safe here.

If it makes you feel better, I get artifacts after ~40 seconds in ATiTool at my current settings of 450/1180. However, I play FEAR for hours at 90C and see not a single artifact, so it's stable to me. Firsthand guess is that your RAM is too high. The cooling on the RAM just isn't enough for such a closed environment. I'm hoping to do some mod work on it tomorrow, will post back if I come up with a good design

flick - sorry about your card man, too bad it wouldnt flash back .

Hey, not your fault or anybody else's but mine for taking a chance. Got two more on the way from spare parts. 264 each with next air. One for overclocking and 1 default incase I screw the overclock up again by chance. I'll leave the default 7800 speeds and order another if I have too. Yeah, it's money, but it's a heck of a lot of fun too.

Will this only work for dell computers? I'm thinking of clocking my sager 5720, or can I use a software for that? The 5720 got a 7800gtx go as well...

I could be wrong but I thought only Dell's 7800s were BIOS-locked, i.e. with non-Dells you should be able to overclock via the drivers. Then again you've probably already tried that, so yeah I'm probably wrong

I wouldn't want to be the guinea pig that tries flashing their Sager with a BIOS made for Dell, but if the cards are the same the BIOS should technically be compatible...

I would just try getting the bios from a Sager member.

The reason I couldn't flash 6800Go Ultra bios from Sager is because all other vendors used NV41M GPUs and Dell used NV42Ms. This time I believe that the Dell 7800 and the Sager 7800 Share the same core (G70), the only thing that might be different is the board ID. You can still force flash with different board ID's. Since the GPUs are the same you have a higher chance of unlocking these cards if you use bios from a different vendor.

It's worth a shot. And it's definatly recommended if someone is sending a 7800 back.

Just start a thread in the sager forum. Post how to pull you bios out from NiBiTor in windows.

Hey, I ended up killing an ultra for the cause, someone be brave.
