Howdy. Well I got it working again. I ran to wal-mart and bought a USB floppy drive. I did the floppy disk thing, and it worked. I just reformated and installed a fresh copy of windows xp pro. I just finished installing all my drivers, etc. Thanks for your help dude. Next time I buy an alienware im definately buying that AlienRespawn thing.

Glad it worked out! I actually got the AlienRespawn DVDs, but don't use it anymore because I upgraded so many things on my computer that it was faster to just do it from scratch...

tokamak you can always use the boot Cd of the respanw kit to make a new image, i made a custom image with some of the drivers i have an most use applications itunes VLC, FF etc....

I thought about trying that, but I have never had a chance/remembered in the past few reformats... Maybe I'll remember next time?

Hi I bought my Area 51M laptop off ebay and it was working great then I had to reformat it and now I found out that the master cd does not work. I was wondering if anyone has a Base System Device driver, Multimedia audio controller

I keep geeting this error message, the Intel chipset software installation utility requires a supported chipset platform running on a supported OS.

Can someone tell me,wich Driver you installed for the Wireless Lan Card from Atheros?I used the Online Driver Search,but this driver is from 2003...

Anyone have any idea whyt he chipset driver you posted won't work? I can't goto alienware.com to look for the driver, since I bought it off ebay.
