Acer Travelmate 8200 Cabon Fiber Intel Centrino Duo mobile technology

anyone heard anything about this? This sounds like a great notebook!

http://global.acer.com/about/news.asp?id=6642

TravelMate 8200 is Acer's flagship commercial notebook; blending timeless colors with innovative materials and textures. Embodying the extreme in mobile computing, it is powered by Intel® Centrino® Duo mobile technology and next-generation GDDR3 memory, along with a 15.4-inch wide display and total security solutions. The cover uses carbon fiber, a highly resilient and light material used in the aerospace industry for dependability. An integrated web camera with 1.3 mega pixel high-resolution CMOS delivers higher quality video, while the 225-degree rotation of the camera means users can take photos of objects behind the notebook cover without turning the notebook around.

I'm also thinking that this will have ATI's Mobility 128mb x1600 in it as well.

I agree that it should be the latest and greatest from our friends at Acer. The press release is all I can find at this time so we will just have to keep looking.

Ok, now that the cat is out of the bag. I can give some details to the X1600 laptop that I have been mentioning here and there.

Acer Travelamte 8200 (spec is for the top model, don't know how many variants they will be producing)

Yonah CPU , 15.4" WSXGA+ screen, 1GB DDR2 533/677, 120GB SATA 5400rpm HD, 256MB DDR3 X1600, DVD-DL burner, Built-in 1.3 Mega pixel camera, Intel Pro wireless 3945 a/b/g, VOIP, 6.6lbs and 6 hours of batterylife (87W 7800mAH vs 71W 4800mAH on 8100) and of course the Carbon Fiber lid.

Before Yonah got delayed, they were shooting for end of Dec but now the latest I heard is that they will have sample at the Winter CES in Vegas with actual shipment probably in Feb.

I don't think 2GB DDR2 533 modules are available yet so the Max you can do currently will be 2GB (2x1GB). I see no reason why you might not be able to use 2GB modules when they do becomes available though.

TV out isn't new. My Dell Inspiron 8600 has S-Video out, which is essentially TV-Out.
