How do you back up the default windows login scheme? Just save it somewhere else on the hard drive, or put it on CD or something?

You have to do it in Safe Mode. As I said in the first post, unless you use a program like stylexp to do it for you, you run the risk of boning your Windows install if you mess it up.

I am not saying it can't be done; I used to do it before finding Style XP. But I don't want people coming back at me and saying my computer is f'd because of you.

I think if you use StyleXP, It does it for you, or has the option to reset back to default.

I just loaded the 1680x1050 onto my Alienware M5500 Laptop and it works fine!

Image and Video Below.

Where can you get Style XP for free? I downloaded a free version but I really couldn't figure it out. Sorry if it seems I'm stupid, but I'd really like to try this out.

It is not a free program. You can download a time limited trial here: www.tgtsoft.com. It is well worth the cost.

Just a warning about themexp.org. The styles there for style xp are loaded with spyware like whenusave now and some domain controlling spyware. I highly recommend you avoid using any of their .exe files.

If you already loaded one of these things you can use Windows Defender available from the Microsoft site to get rid of the spyware.
