Video Card won't work.

Hello,

I have a video card (Intel 915GM/GMS, 910 GML Express Chip) and I want to play Battlefield 2. I have to get an ATI or NVIDIA graphics card now right??? But, I called Best Buy and they say you cannot switch video cards on a laptop . What should I do?

nothing you can do

you cant get a laptop w/ intel 915 graphics and expect it to play any game made in the last year

either get a tower or a new laptop to play BF2

Ummmmm.....very few options here:
1) Sell your lappy and buy a new one.
2) Only play Battlefield 2 on your desktop.
3) Keep your current lappy and buy a new gaming laptop.

well im going to post because i like your username...

unfortunatley, if you get integrated graphics, you cant add a dedicated video card. Cheapest solution is to update your desktop if you have one, or build a budget gaming pc.

EA is pickkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkky.... I've always wanted to build a PC but I'm looking for a laptop here. I think I'll take a look at some Gaming laptops. Intel has a great tutorial on how ot build a pc on their site.

Some gaming laptops to check out depending on how much you want to spend.
Sager 5720 (2000 - 2700 depending on specs)
Sager 5320 (1800 - 2400 depending on specs)
Asus Z70Va (1800 - 2200 depending on specs)
MSI 1029/1032 ( 1700 - 2000 depending on specs)
There are many others to consider, but it all comes down to what you are looking for spec wise. If you can give us some idea such as the following will help us to help you.
Screen size and resolution
Battery life
AMD or Intel
Hard drive size
Price

I think is time to made an external video card. Just imagine, USB, Firewire or PC card GPU. Because is on the outside will be cooler. Will be fully compatible with old systems.

your best bet is to go ahead and get a gaming rig... tell me your budget and i could probably figure in a great rig. (as long as its over around 1000 dollars to get high end GPU... 2000 would get you probably latest and greatest)

well, you can build a rig for much less than a grand and still be able to play everything. BUT, if you want a laptop, then go for it. Wont be as cheap as a desktop...

yes, as in desktop

hmm, its really not that hard, theres really only one way it can go together. You should be able to figure it out by the manuals that come with the hardware. If not, google it. If you need help picking hardware or building it, let me know, ive built quite a few.
