I am pretty sure the porsche laptop, is not a Porsche sponsored laptop, also this laptop is pathetic.. it must be real old.. cos of the stuff in it is pathetic.
Weight is a little too high, and yah.. take the porsche outta the runnings... it's not up to gaming standards of today... Now back to the News of the Lambo Vs Ferrari. Ok someone said the Lambo is gonna be released real soon and it will have a Pentium-M.. well that's just fine.. w/e. As for a new Ferrari, Either Acer will release something to break in this new year, and since AMD is sponsoring the Ferrari too. My Guess is the new Ferrari will be a Turion and not a Turion x2 (cos these babys are not out yet). And since ASUS Lambo is gonna be a Pent-M, both Lambo and Ferrari will be on similar grounds for competition, the Ferrari will be for sure Widescreen, and the Lambo is gonna be 4:3 ! So the winner of this race is subjective to what you want, But Thumbs up for the Ferrari being Widescreen. (WS is definately the way to go) That's my 2 cents. Thanks, MysticGolem |

Looks like the Lambo is simply using the V6v chasis. I am guessing Asus is too lazy to design a new chasis just for the Lambo notebook, so they take one of their best current designs and slap on the logo....a bit cheap if u ask me. Well lets wait fo the specs and prices.

You can't compare laptops, period. Everyone has different tastes and needs for them. One might choose performance over mobility, another might choose battery life over performance, someone else might choose looks over everything, then theres us Ferrari owners who take the best of all worlds

Exactly what I was going to say!!!! If memory serves me correctly I don't even think there is one Intel sponsored car in Formula 1. Granted I am sure a few teams might use intel equipment but I don't recall any official intel sponsorship.. which is likely because intel does pretty much focus their main advertising dollars at the American consumer first...and the vast majority of American race fans are only into Nascar Edit: Intel is a sponsor of Toyota..

And if slapping a logo onto your top of the line chassis is cheap, then Asus beats Acer ... at least this Lambo got a custom lid, the Ferrari just got paint and some rubber bits. ![]() -Mickey |

Ummm... what about the redesigned, carbon fiber lid? (not much of a redesign..but it was something) the rubber covering was NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE. If I could have that rubber covering w/ an IBM keyboard, I'd be in heaven. |

ASUS has already said that most of the new laptops they produce (if not all) will be REFRESHES of older models.
For Example ASUS Z70v -> ASUS Z70va ASUS V6v -> ASUS V6va -> v6j (Lambo) So yah... I am an ASUS Fan, i like thier products and prices. But When comparing Ferrari (Apples) and Lambo (Oranges), you really can't compare these two laptops, because the Ferrari 4005 is a 15.4" and the future Ferrari Models will also be 15.4", whereas this Lambo is a refreshed V6va which is a 15" screen. But if you wanted to compare them anyways, 2 BIG Thumbs up to Ferrari and to the Future of Ferrari models. This prooves i am not bias too But to be fair to ASUS, there is still a mystery about what they got up their sleeves. My guess is, take a ASUS Z70va and refresh it, give it a Yonah DC and a X1600 256mb and bam, ASUS is back in direct competition to Acer and their 8200 and any future Ferrari models. You guys get what i am saying? Last Year in 2005 the top models for portable gaming were: (not in order) Acer Ferrari 4005 Acer 8100 Acer 1964 ASUS Z70va Sager 5320 HP Dv4000 These laptops were in competition with eachother and yes the Ferrari is an AMD but it's just one difference, it was still competitive to the ASUS Z70va and others. All of these models showed portability, decent build quality, not a big premium in price for brand, and awsome performance for the of 2005. We will havta wait like 1 or 2 months and then people will have the ability to choose from about 6-12 awsome yonah +X1600 laptops in the market which would have some nice competition, and definately price is one big factor and battery life ![]() At this point Ferrari does beat the Lambo, only cos it is 15.4" vs 15", and people are now prefering 15.4" over 15" So we all gotta wait till we see what ASUS has to offer. Thanks, MysticGolem |

i still like the non-widescreens, they just seem more asthetically pleasing and it seems there is a larger area to work on, and i think the v6va is 15.1'' hehe...acer will stick to AMD as AMD sponsors the ferrari and most likely the acer will go with Taylor when it comes out, hopefully soon.

porsche design has no relation to Porshce (as in cars).
Acer will stick with AMD, for the whole Ferarri sponsorship thingy. Besides, AMD actually uses Acer Ferrari laptops (At least in Austin). Lambo will be nice! but at what $$$? another wait and see. obligatory dancing banana below ![]() |

The Porsche design was desinged by FA Porsche, a design firm founded by the grandson of Professor Ferdinand Porsche, who among other things designed the legendary Mercedes SS and SSK supercharged sports cars. And the Type 32 which was the basis for the VW bug. The design is cool, but the brand is owned by Best Buy and was tanked a while ago AFAIK.
The Asus looks very nice, but it's premature to simply hand it all the awards, Acer should have a new Ferrari generation coming along fairly soon based on the dual core Turion X2 platform Yamato, with updated graphics, Then you can have a showdown. |
