How to turn screen off when closing lid? *SOLUTION FOUND*

In power settings, the only options for actions taken when closing the lid are hibernate, turn off, and standby. Is there anyway i can make the screen turn off while keeping the computer on when i close my lid?

I'm assuming you have a I6000. In my I6000, the screen automatically turns off when I close the lid. It came like that, I didn't see any setting for it.

The screen will turn off automatically when you close the lid, just set the power options to "Do Nothing".

No.

I would like to do the same thing you're talking about, but I can't find a way.

*PROBLEM SOLVED*

However, I can't pinpoint the solution. Either the Notebook system software or the dell vid card drivers remedied it. I installed the dell ATI X300 Drivers AND the Notebook system software at the same time, so i'm unsure which one solved the problem.
