Thinking of going Hypersonic CX7 but need advice
Hey everyone,
I'm about to take the plunge on a Hypersonic CX7, but just wanted to ask for some advice/recommendations. Was looking to get the CX7 with 2 gigs of ram/100gig 7200rpm HD and WinXP Pro. Option 1 was to get a fully loaded system through Hypersonic. Total would come out to about $2,590. Option 2 was to get everything but the ram/hd/os from Hypersonic and then get the rest from newegg. Which would bring the total cost of option 2 to about $2250. Was thinking of specifically getting these items: Ram - gigaram 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM Notebook Memory http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820221121 HD - HITACHI Travelstar 7K100 80GB 2.5" Notebook Hard Drive - OEM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822146047 Is saving the extra money worth it over the piece of mind of getting it all from 1 place? Would I still get the burn in testing and such with option 2? Any problems with the components from newegg in terms of compatibility? Any help would be greaty appreciated. |

I would get it all from Hyper, all under one warranty and all burned in.

Gaming on Hypersonic CX7

I agree with DB on this. You may save a couple hundred, but knowing that everything is covered on your warranty is just that much more security. And if you have read some of the other threads, you will see that the warranty is a must.
That aside, if I remember correctly from Pat, the systems are benchmarked and burned-in whether you get the drives from them or not. The difference is that you will be putting in parts that may result in different benchmarks than what they tested with. Is that a big deal, maybe not. But atleast you should have some sort of security knowing the individual pieces of hardware have been burned in and tested as well. I know that there was an issue with a drive on my system - so they replaced it before it was even shipped. Good luck!

yup i thought of this as well, but it isnt worth it. its one thing if you are talking about a ghetto 400 dollar HP desktop, but this is an expensive gaming machine.
