FS: MR9800. That's right!
For sale is one used (lightly) 256MB ATi Mobility Radeon 9800. It has been copper modded (many hours lapping the copper) and has Tweakmonster Ramsinks on each RAM chip. I did these mods and OC'ed it a few times for benchmarking and ramped it back to stock clock settings. I rarely play any games (would rather play on a console) and I have no use for it. I'd rather sell it to someone who could use it properly. One catch, I need a replacement videocard.
$400 shipped. Somewhat flexible, but I know what it is worth. No trades, unless you have bouillon. Core: 216PECGA12f GF3644.1 0441AA TAIWAN AIM=PalmyBluInterior

No attempts have been made as far as pipe unlocking is concerned.

The going price for the MR 9800 is this high because Dell no longer sells this card. The last one to sell on ebay went for $500! There is little supply left and significant demand for this card. That is what is driving the prices up.
The speed of an MR9800 in an i9100/XPS running at 3 Ghz is comparable to that of an unmodded 6800 Go in an i9300. This is a perfect upgrade for an i9100/XPS owner who wants to extend the life of their laptop, albeit very expensively (no threadcrap intended). I just sold my i9100 (with the MR9700) and got a pretty good price for it (it held it's value very well over the time I owned it). OP if it does not sell soon recommend you try ebay, the prices there are insanely high. Good luck. |

Thanks! Finally someone who understands the market. Unfortunately, most people think because it's almost two years old, it isn't worth anything. I had one guy tell me it's worth about $80. Ha!
I planned to go to eBay in the beginning, but I thought i'd give the people here at NBF a crack at it first.
