Anyone tried to put an SSD to a 470K? I think with i can get more good juice from mine , but not sure if Bios will accept it.

There is also the need with a converter ATA to SATA, since i am not aware of ATA SSD's.

ATA SSD's exist, they're just rare.

I haven't tried but I don't like SSD because of their short life-span...

Upgrade failed

I update the bios of my D470k to 2.04a and it works fine with my old clawhammmer, got a new Lancaster (ML-37) installed and it won't boot. Powers on but no display and the fan spins down, as typical, and the notebook just sits there. Did I miss a step? Get a DOA cpu? Works with the clawhammer back in.

...I'm not sure how to take that, thanks for posting the bios btw. A little late but this may be usefull to someone: D470k_2.04a.iso - 1.5 Mb. (the bootable cd I made from it).
I found the following command very helpful.
Code:
PHLASH16.EXE /B:bios.rom /V

No problem man, good luck with the rejuvenation. I'll let you know how things go after I RMA this processor.

Thumbs up Sucess

Got a replacement Lancaster today, works great~!
Guess the first one was DOA, but they replaced it quickly. Props to Starmicro. Overclocked it to 2.1 GHz and undervolted it a bit. Will post any battery life increase after some testing. Thanks guys!
