Anybody Edit with Avid Xpress Pro on Notebooks

I listed this issue but I will try again. I'm using Acer Aspire 5672 with ATI Radeon Mobility x1400. The video freezes on one frame in capture and play back. I've a months worth of searching for an answer between Avid, Acer and ATI. No luck. Looks like an issue with my video card? Anybody with AVID or appropriate video editing experience able to provide a solution?

Thanks

as you know, you have an unsupported video card.
Stop whining and get a supported system.
Avid is not hearts.

Have you tried different ATI drivers, i.e. Catalyst or those modded ones?

Plenty of systems with unsupported hardware/software work just fine with
the Avid, but I have heard of people having problems with these new cards.
I edit with AXP professionally using an i9300/GeForce 6800 combo. Another
editor I know just built a new system with the x1600 card and he's having the
same problems, which he never managed to resolve. So a new card it is.

Thanks for the useless wisdom...really unsupported? Gee thanks for the info. If you have to verbally masterbate with such comments do it in a mirror next time. As you know also know, being so wise, there are hundreds of so called "unsupported" video cards that that work just fine with Avid, I just finished a project on my friends computer on an "unsupported card". Plus Avid goes off about supporting Nvidia and then formally supports laptops running ATI cards, so unless you have a helpful suggestion keep the uneducated comments to yourself. It doesn't make you look any smarter.

As per the other useful post, I've been trying some different drivers but no luck yet.
