HP's QuickPlay v2.0

I've been searching and I can't find any info about when is HP going to release QuickPlay v2.0. They have already released a bios update for the dv4000 wich is supposed to support QuickPlay v2.0.

I want to know when is it going to be available for download!

Someone told me that it is going to have some nice improvements, and I would like to confirm that, but I just can't find any info.

Thanks!

Edit:
I found something, but it is not very useful.

QP v2 will use 1GB of space , instead of the current 204MB for QP v1. this is something I don't really like

I know QuickPlay v2.0 is going to be able to display pictures, that is confirmed.

I've heard that we will be able to watch videos too, that's a nice feature.

But what I want to know is if we are going to be able to play the music, photos and videos that are in any place of our HDD, 'cause currently we need to have the music files in the 'Shared Music' folder to be able to play them with QPv1.

I read somewhere that we are going to be able to use external drives, but again, all this is has not been confirmed or said on a reliable source.

I don't think it will be a simple download. It requires re-partitioning of HD since the QP2.0 is now 1GB in size.

Do you have it on a CD? So far, it is not on their site. FYI, even the previous version is not available for download except its update patches and source code. For re-installation, you really need to have the CD or a ghost image. I really doubt HP will put the QP2.0 as a free update.

If you have a QuickPlay v2.0 CD...I would be very appreciated if you share it with us.

I have already shared my QPv1, I sent it to Turkey using an FTP server.

Please!!! Share it with us! I really want QPv2.0

I hate when they don't give us CD's. I was lucky, I got a WinXP Installation CD and a DVD with all the drivers and apps.

Anyway, you may try a search on your HDD, maybe there is some executable file in the Recovery Partition that will allow us to run the installation process. Although, QPv1 doesn't install under Win, we need to boot the laptop with the installation CD. So...maybe there's another way to copy QPv2. Maybe using a partition manager you could copy the whole partition (ghost image) and then send it to us.

It is really weird if QPv2 doesn't get available for download, since HP released a Bios Update for dv4000 laptops and that update allow us to use QPv2. Why do I want that update, if they wont allow me to download QPv2???

xtremetoys: Please try to find a way to share QPv2 to us. I'll try to help as much as I can.

The most difficult part is to get the copy, then we can share using:
-FTP
-Torrent
-eMule
-www.yousendit.com (if the file stays under 1GB) Using this webpage, you can upload the file 1 time and send 20 links to 20 different people to allow them to download the file.

Thanks in advance!
